Sector 7 went dark at 04:12. Containment held for nine minutes.

You are the last hazmat suit still moving. Everything else in the facility used to be a person.

OUTBREAK: Dark Lab Ops is a twin-stick survival shooter that runs in your browser, on desktop or phone. No install, no account, no loading screen.

Two ways to play

Campaign — Descend the facility one room at a time. Every sector is built fresh: a sealed entry bay, armouries where you pick one weapon and leave the rest behind, medical bays, specimen vaults that spring shut when you take the bait, and a containment core with something much larger in it. Reach extraction and the next sector opens, deeper and darker.

Wave Mode — One arena, endless waves. The armoury randomiser rolls you a new weapon after every wave, whether you wanted it or not. A boss every fifth wave.

Visibility is the difficulty

There are three protocols, and the thing that changes between them is how much you can see.

  • Quarantine — Emergency lighting holds. Full visibility.
  • Breach — Thick haze. Contacts surface without warning.
  • Blackout — Near zero visibility. You fight by sound and muzzle flash.

The fog is volumetric and sits around you, not the camera: a clear pocket at your feet, everything past it dissolving. On Blackout that pocket is barely three metres wide.

What's in the facility

  • 12 weapons, from a service pistol to a railgun that punches through a whole corridor — each found on a pedestal, each in Standard, Enhanced or Prototype grade
  • Mutagen perks that stack across a run: lifesteal, bigger blasts, faster dashes, regeneration
  • Nine specimen types — walkers, sprinters, acid spitters, armoured brutes, suicide bombers, crawler swarms, automated turrets, and two very different things at the bottom of each sector
  • Elite variants from Sector 2 onward, crowned and twice as hard to put down
  • Dash with i-frames, throwable grenades, chain-reacting barrels, and an armour system that eats a hit before your health does

Controls

Desktop — WASD to move, mouse to aim, left click to fire, Shift to dash, E for grenades, P to pause.

Mobile — Twin sticks. Left to move, right to aim and fire, with dash and grenade within thumb's reach. The layout flips for left-handers in settings.

Your best sector, best wave, high score and settings are saved locally.
